It's beauty is that you embroider an initial separately, and once the embroidery patch is neat and ready, it's attached to the final project, to whatever place you need.

Paper Napkins CoverThis project, kindly created and shared by Patricia Cochet, features a sturdy cover for standard box of paper napkins. AS you may see, the cover front is made of oatmeal-colored linen, and the sides are decorated with initial patches. The patches were embroidered first, and then attached to the cover.

Oatmeal Lingerie Bag with Heart PatchThe bag is sewn of oatmeal-colored linen, and adorned with a lovely heart-shaped initial patch. The patch was embroidered first, and then attached to the bag. The top edge is trimmed with a piece of crochet lace.

Un Air d'AutrefoisThis was once a regular white-colored bath towel, that got adorned with a lovely monogrammed patch, and an additional embroidery saying "Un Air d'Autrefois" - which means something like "Vintage Scent" in French. The patch was embroidered separately, and then attached to the towel.
