This cool project was created by Darla Simmons, who sent us lots of beautiful projects, including this one. Darla, thank you so much! They are very stylish and beautiful :o)
Here is a photo of all three pillows together, and below you'll find Darla's instruction explaining how they're done, as well as some more close-up photos.
Supplies List:
Instruction:Start with a pocket cut from an old pair of jeans, cut fabric of your choice into 2 1/2-inch wide strips. Each pillow size varies, according to how large the pocket is. Using the "log cabin" quilting method, sew the strips around the perimeter of the pocket:
Because the denim is already heavy, I used only one layer of tearaway stabilizer. I used flowers #3 and #8 from "Fantasy Flowers" collection, free cross design, and lettering from my software. Add a few buttons for added detail. Using a pillow top as a pattern, cut a piece of fabric to use as a back of the pillow, sew together and stuff.
Add your own sentiment if you wish - say "Thank You" or "Happy Birthday", and include a gift card in the pocket of the pillow.... They are so much fun to make, and give as gifts!
