Lace Sachet BagsThis gorgeous project was kindly provided by Barbara A. Turner.
Barbara, many thanks!!
Instructions from Barbara:
- Using
Sweet Fashion Roses designs set (specifically the
Curly Vignette and
Rose and Berry Vignette), I used two antique needle lace luncheon linens to make sachet bags.
- I coordinated the two designs into a set by making the roses shades of dark and light yellow, positioning two on either end of each rectangular doily.
My objective in this project was to make the maximum use of the simple and beautiful lace, while show the embroidery to advantage. I accomplished this by folding the rectangular doilies in half and stitching along the sides of the lace, leaving the ends open (now the tops of the sachets). I folded the tops perpendicularly to the sides, creating a cross-shaped lace across the top. Doing this makes the embroidered flowers stand out, while creating a fanciful top. I finished the sachets with a yellow satin bow. Use some lavender to fill them up!

Padded Gift HangersThis sweet vintage-style project was kindly provided by Barbara A. Turner. Barbara, thank you very much for sharing!!
Instructions from Barbara:
From
Rose Essentials embroidery designs set I used
Border 1 to create an elegant and beautiful gift. I embroidered on organdy, using tear-away stabilizer to form the knot of two over-sized bows, also sewn from hemmed organdy. When the bows were completed, I hand stitched them on to the hanger.
